T-Ballin'
T-Ball continues. Michael is improving every game. He's hitting the ball much better, and he now knows where to run when the ball is hit. A couple of weeks ago, if he were a baserunner, when the ball was hit he would chase after it, then remember that he wasn't supposed to do that, run back to the base he was on, and then proceed to the next one. He also seems to be more at ease with his teammates and coaches.
Yesterday, Michael took a break from baserunning (in the middle of the game) to come over and ask me to remind him of the name of his pet dinosaur that was in the car (a little plastic Teradactyl that he's been caring for lately). I told him, then reminded him that he was in the middle of the game, and should really be running to home plate right about now. He then nonchalantly jogged from our spot on the sidelines to the plate.
Here you'll find a couple of older videos of T-Ball. In the first, Michael is running home from third (after being reminded by a coach which direction to run). The best part is the end, when the coach tells him to touch the plate, and Michael stands there for a few minutes with his foot on the plate, waiting for his next instruction. While it may appear that he doesn't know what he's doing, I think he was actually taunting the pitcher.
The second video is of him chasing a ball down in right field from his position near shortstop. On his way back to his position, he decides that he's hungry, and so he makes a sharp left turn, and heads our way for a snack.
Enjoy!

The best part about these videos is your giggling in the background, Joe. That's pretty amusing.
How many kids to they have on each position in the outfield? There was like 3 or 4 kids going after that ball...
Well, it's pretty hard not to laugh when you watch this stuff. And men don't giggle. They chuckle. Sheesh.
Each team has about 12 or 14 kids. They start them out in positions, but the kids don't understand the idea of STAYING in position. So by the third of fourth batter, it's a free-for-all.
