Bed Time
I recently finished enough work in Michael’s room to have the bed delivered. Ever the scrooge, I scoffed at the furniture company’s offer to put it together for me for a whopping $75, and did it myself. It was a blast, as you can see from the expression on my face. Actually, it went very well, save for some poor instructions which caused me to put a dowel where a bolt should be, and vice versa. Nothing a drill and some large curse words directed overseas couldn’t fix.
After the grunting and swearing was done, Michael had a brand new bed. It’s a loft bed, which allows his dresser and a bookcase to slide neatly below it, and is high enough to give Michael access to the skylight so he can plummet from the roof. It also allows his desk (which is on casters) to roll out when it’s needed, and roll back when it’s not. Enzo loves it as well, especially the ladder part, because it gives him that many more opportunities to kill himself as he climbs up and down.
I still have a few small items to complete in the room, but Michael has moved in, and seems to be enjoying his new furniture. Many thanks to the sponsors of the new bed, N & P. The ‘N & P’ decals should be arriving soon, and we’ll put them on the side of the bed, just like NASCAR. More photos of the finished room are on the way.
Can't you see how much I'm enjoying myself?
This quiet lasted about 5 minutes. A new record.
Enzo trying to kill himself. Note no parent is present (except the one taking the photo).
The beginning of the end.
