Road Trip!
A couple of weeks ago, Sally, Michael and I were lucky enough to be hosted by Auntie Gianna in New York for a weekend, which included a trip to see the musical Mary Poppins. It was weekend of firsts for Michael - first train ride, first Broadway musical, first taxi ride (and coincidentally the closest brush with death or dismemberment that he's had so far), first homeless person, first dead pigeon, and so on. We started with lunch at a hip joint down the street, then risked our lives on the subway (Sal is only smiling in the below photo because she's trying not to cry in terror) to go see the town. There isn't much to see in New York, but we managed to keep ourselves busy.
Michael had an awesome time (as did we), and seemed completely unfazed by the millions of people or cars. But when went on a tour of G's theater, he hid behind us out of shyness when meeting one or two people. Go figure. Sal played tourist and snapped photos wherever we went, and even prayed for her life during the cab rides. Pfffff. Silly tourists.
