Jimmy & Timmy, we hardly knew ye.
This past weekend we were lucky enough to catch some sun, so we went to the annual Camden First Aid Association's open house thingy. We saw a bunch of ambulances (which we were able to go inside of and test out the defibulators), an old army medical transport, a newer HUM-V medical transport, a MediVac helicopter (which attempted to land, but couldn't because of soggy ground conditions), and Ruger the K9 police dog.
We were also lucky enough to see the simulated crash ride, where they basically have a truck cab on a rotisserie. They strap one dummy in the cab, and then just sit two others (dubbed 'Jimmy' and 'Timmy' by the rotisserie operator) with no seatbelts in the cab. Then they spin the cab a few times until Jimmy and Timmy are extricated from the vehicle. And the operator guy was waaaay too excited about his job. Every time the dummies were thrown he'd get all cheerful and say stuff like 'Awwwwwwww. Look at Jimmy and Timmy. Did you guys see how far they were thrown from the car because they weren't wearing their seatbelts? Do you think they're dead? Do you think their brains are splattered all over the road? Do you?!?'
